I have A 1990 V4 120 horse power evinrude. Where the starter connects to the motor, the top bracket where the bolt goes from front to back is broken. There is a little meat in the front of the tube and meat in the back, enough to secure the starter. It seems like the tube is on a small angle. When I put the starter in I noticed thet the teeth on the starter were wearing oddly.
(is the starter too close or too far away, the teeth are wearing in the middle giving it an hour glass look)
My question is, If I put the bolts in on the side first and tighten them down then put in the top bolt is that the correct positon?
I hope someone known what I am trying to ask.
