Starter replacement

Just want to first say hello....I'm new to this forum.

I have a 1988 Bayliner capri V8 305....starter went out over the weekend. I ordered a new marine starter from a local NAPA store. The starter that I got is half the size of the old starter. Will this thing work ?

Yes should be fine just changed mine for third time..(dont ask) lol yea some of the new style are like that mechanic tells me new technology more power less size.

No...never had that problem.

But as far as the starter goes....I'll install it this weekend.
