I have a 1972 slickcraft w/302 ford
I just bought a new starter solenoid. It has four post comming out of it. Two look like they are made of copper and are on the side of the solenoid. The other two are made of steel I guess because they are silver. Anyway I know that a cable goes from the common on the batter switch to one of the copper post but which one? Does it even matter? I also know that the thing has to be grounded but from where and to what? I also know that the other copper one will be for the cable that connects to the starter. Now, Above the silver post there are letters I and S I'm guessing that these mean ignition and starter. If the wire that is labled I is ignition then does that mean it goes on the ignition switch where it says ignition............................
Today has not been a good day.
