Starter wiring

Hi all,
Does anyone know how the ele. starter on a 25 hp 1992 mercury should wire up, if someone knows please post pics, or wire diagram, the guy I bought the motor from just cut all the wires out and I really don't have any thing to go on as to how this should be put back together, Thanks

Serial number would help. tiller button start? or what? pics would also help.

Sorry about it being vague, It is A tiller button start, cant post pics for some reason?, serial number is 615j161, Thanks for any info.

Can you double check that s/n as it would not have a j in it. Starting with the number 6, this would put it in the '80s, not 1992. Is is a 2/3/4 cylinder?

It is the number I found on the cover, and it is a 2 cylinder, thanks for the info, I am new to this motor and it has a sticker on the cover with that number and 1992 on the same sticker maybe wrong info, or some type of inspection sticker? dont know for sure.

check on the transom bracket for the SR# and modle of the motor. It should be on the side.

This would be the s/n range for a 1992:

0D082000 thru 0D181999

Range for the s/n starting with 6:

5942041 thru 6185158 (1982)

Thanks for the info, will keep looking for the s/n but would the wiring be the same, I need some type of diagram to go on,thanks for any info.
