Hi all....I have twin 350 engines in my boat. The Starter for each engine falls right under the corner of the engine room hatch where there is no water gutter. Therefore, every time it rains, water drips on my starters, corroding the cases. I tried to put a mat over them , but it still finds its way to the corners. Any suggestions On how to shield the starters? Thanks, JK

Re: Starters

How about a stiff plastic shield? All you need it to do is deflect the water over the starter. You could attach it to the manifold, block or the hull itself.

Re: Starters

Try cutting a piece of PVC pipe or something similar in half and screw it to the underside of the hatch to make a lip so the water is deflected to another area of the bilge.

Water always runs downhill. Do whatever you need to do to divert it elsewhere.
