Hey Guys,<br /> maybe someone can help i have a 1986 140 merc i/o. Here is my problem it starts hard, the starter whines until the engine sputs to life and then once it starts after about 5-10 sec of cranking , it idles good, now the other problem when i put it in gear to go sometimes there a pause and a vaccum sound or it sounds like a hisssing sound from the carb and a pause in power, if i feather the trottle i can prevent it from stalling and continue on, sometimes when i pull back on the throttle from 3/4 WOT to just below idle it will stall can any one tell me what the problem might be.
