i use polyester resin most of the time. just cheap. will take a little while to get to that have to sort of title paper work and make sure i can save the motor. and of course raise the funds.

Nice shaped boat. Cool looking dash and the windshield looks to be in great shape. Going to be a huge project but I really think you'll have a neat looking boat when you're done.

Re: starting another one!

hey pyro....welcome to i boats.......

what kind of boat is that? do you know?...it allmost looks like a sea ray. the hull is simmelar, mannufacturers sell there molds all the time, so it could be anything.

make you get your papers before you "dig in"...no point fixing what you cant own.

it sounds like you've done this before,?

ill be watching this one, as it looks like someones allready been in there. they added the dimensional lumber in the center section. was it resin incased?. it looks like drips on it.....

they also glassed the stringers and capped them with chopped matt. it will be interesting to see how they held up.

also did they throw a new deck over a rotted one?

if youve done this before you know that a little bit og mone here or there is better than laying out a lump at the start.

again welcome aboard. and have atter

cheers

Re: starting another one!

oops! ,
yes i have done this before go to http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=273703
to see my last project. it got all new wood as this one will. yes the previos owners threw in new dimensional lumber and new plywood floor with no glass right on top of the original rotten floor. it was a hack job to say the least. the stringers and bows are rotten the transom looks alright at first glance but i will know the truth after i remove the deck and get in there. still have not got a chance to get down to the parks and wildlife office yet. so no progress to report. but i will in the coming months so check back in. i will try to take pics and cronicle the entire restoration. i skiped some steps on the bass boat(with pics i mean). the boat is an invader 17' don't know much else about it would love some more info on it if some one knows how to decode the serial number or has inside knowledge of invaders.
