starting in winter..

I just finished my carb cleaning, and impellor replacement for my 18 horse evinrude. I would like to try and start it up for the first time but it's mighty cold here right now.. about 20 degrees. i know the lower unit oil was thick from the cold, coming out.. Is it Ok to try and barrel run it in temps this cold?

Don't see why not, Woody. Might need some extra choking but it oughta work.<br /><br />Be sure to fully drain the water when done.

Thanks JB.. Just wanted to ask the experts first..Honestly.. i have made some dumb mistakes in the past, Just didn't want to overlook something obvious. We have some huge northern pike in my area.. Is that what you are holding in your avatar?

I had my boat out Sat & Sunday temp was 9 degrees. It starts up just like any warm day.

That's a musky, floatingwoody. A pike that big would be a real trophy.
