I have read this kind of post quite a few times, the motor always starts cold fast at the ramp , I run to the fishing hole turn off the motor fish and dont catch anything, try to start the motor and it wont hot start.
This is usually a failing ignition part, usually older two stroke motors which part i dont know. When old failing ignition parts get hot they dont work again till they cool down, it seems like an hour would be enough but maybe not. Some body on here said if you can test hot ignition parts might need a multi meter, dva, you can find it.

did you take a good fuel sample?
water in fuel?

If no water, keep a timing lite with you and check for spark at each plug, next time its hard to start.

Mr Edward Collins, if you have a two stroke yes, the ignition systems are close enough. There a two stroke.
There is a reason the motors are four stroke EFI now, they start like cars, idle like cars run like cars no problems.
Lets be honest here two strokes start like harley davidsons, not that well, idle like Harleys, not that well sound like there going to die on next heartbeat, dont rev up that well they hesitate when you rev them up,the point thanks for hanging in there.
Buy a used four stroke EFI if your boating budget can afford it,stop the madness have some fun, life jackets for everybody.

When have 2 strks been hard starting?? People have just as many problems with 4 strks as 2. Go to www.cdielectronics.com for ignition testing procedures. Ed collins start your own post.
