When I turn the key in my 1999 volvo-penta 4.3gl and hear a small sound back by the engine but I guess I wouldn't call it a "click". I took the starter off, had it tested at two autopart stores and they both said the starter was junk so I ordered a new starter and I still can't get the thing to crank over.
I've read Don's HOW To on engine starting systems (which is great info, thanks) and I'm confused on how to test the starter relay. I'm not a pro with electrical but I'm guessing if I remove the starter relay, to test it would be impossible. Do I have to test it by puncturing the wires leading to the relay?
I would be grateful for any help.
