Most likely my problem...I recently had my motor serviced (oil change etc.) in prepration for spring operations. Today I washed it and tried to crank it up. After several attempts I discoverd that during servicing the "dead man switch" was off. After reinstating I tried again...still no start. I am now think I have flooded the engine ( a 2005 carberated Mercury 150 SaltWater). So the questions are:
1. Do you think I flooded the engine?
2. If so will trying again tomorrow work better?
3. How do you correct for a flooded engine?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Starting problem:

1. yes 2. probably 3. neutral throttle advance, advance throttle fully, gas line disconnected, try to start. when flooded you have to get rid of the excess fuel. sometime you have to wait and let the excess gas evaporate. you can also remove the plugs, dry them out, with throttle fully retarded, turn the engine over to blow excess fuel out plug holes. reinsert plugs and try to restart using mfg recommended starting procedure.
