have a Mercury 115 four stroke that is a couple of years old , low hours.

The engine wont crank over at all. Replaced the cranking battery but still wont work. Check all the fuses on the engine but none were blown. The power tilt and trim, bilge pump etc work fine.

Any suggestions what may be the problem here.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Starting Problems

By pass the key switch and jump it at the stater. Then see if it cranks. If it does then your starter should be fine.

Re: Starting Problems

Wiggle the shift control, shift in and out of gear a couple of times.

The starter lock out switch may have a poor contact.
