starting problems.

I had Johnson 1970 85hp hydo/elec. shift, last year before I put the motor up for the winter it's was running fine. Last week when I tried to get it ready for the summer, hooked up the fully charged battery, new gas and I'm ready to go, turned on the key to start...nothing...yes, nothing move not even a click, leave key to on position and measured at the starter, nothing. I thought bad solinoid, replaced with new one...no luck, grabbed new ignition switch because my was very very old...still nothing. Now I'm at the poin of no available...don't know where to start, any suggestion whould be really appreciated, Thx. Tep.

Is the solenoid itself getting juice?

Just a thought, but a friend of mine had the same problem It seem's that mice chewed the wires ( during storage ).

the power stop at the top big pole of the selinoid.

It's there a fuse between the solinoid and ignition switch or it there a fuse at all on this motor? because I can not see one? Thx.

very closely...trace out all the wiring. eliminate the simple things first. You said it was fine last year...I bet you are over looking something very obvious?<br /><br />suzuki40

I did trace all of the wire from batt to solinoid, starter and ignition. It's the power pack have any things to do when starting up? Thank you very much.

back to the fuses, I read on one of the post that Clanton was mentioned something like"the 20 amp fuse in engine harness, it is in a red connector that looks like small red primer bulb." can some one pin point me where this fuse locate at or where does it connected to and from. Thank you very much for replies.

Problems solved, replaced the 20amp fuse and up she went...thanks every one for the help, TepSter.
