Hi y'all:

I am trying to start (for the first time) an old 1963 sea king 5 hp outboard. I bought a new gas can and mixed 1/6 pint outboard oil to each gallon of gas in the tank (4 gals of gas in tank). Could someone please outline the proper starting procedure for this outboard? What is the proper position for the high and slow speed dials?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tsutter
That is only half enough oil. the mix should be 24:1. That is 1/6 QUART per gal.of gas. Post your email address I have some info that will help you.
