I stop in for an oil pan drain plug gasket for a 2004 F115TLRC
I give him a part number (90430-14M09-00) I got off Yamaha web site and he tells me that number is superseded and gives me a gasket that is fiber and I can tell it's too small.
He says the number I gave him was last used in 2002.
He checks and has my part number. It is the correct size but it?s copper.
When I got home I checked the Yamaha web site again and find the same part number is used on 04, 05 and 06 & later models.

Not sure what he was looking at.
Do I have the correct part?

The original drain plug washers that come with the motor are aluminum but the replacement ones are copper.

I've got a yammy 2006 F115TLR and have ordered oil drain washer using part number 90430-14228 ... which is the correct one for my outboard. It is copper.

Re: Starting to doubt my local dealer

Thank for the replies.
The first gasket the dealer gave me was for the lower unit not the oil pan.
My engine did have the aluminum washer and now replaced it with a copper washer, part number 90430-14228 (all stated above)
