OK First Boat so excuse if I sound like an idiot.
I have twin Mariner 150's (1989)
On my Starboard engine I noticed the other day it was a little tough to start. What was happening is this..... if I went right to a start the engine would attempt to turn over so as I gave it some choke it sounded like it was about to turn over and then it would stop cranking and I would hear a hum from the engine. I would give it another try and it would crank but then go right back to the hum when it seemed like it was about to turn over. Thought I flooded it so I gave it a minute to sit and it happened a couple of more times then finally turned over. This only happened on the starboard engine.
Today I went to give them another shot and I noticed that my port engine did it briefly also but did turn over without a hitch. Guy I bought the boat from told me that he put 25 gallons of gas in just before I bought it but not sure how much gas he had int here from last season and if he put in any sort of stabalizer. I have yet to put any gas in it.
Today when I went to start it happened again but not as bad as last time but still heard that hum when it was about to turn over causing it to stop cranking.
I attempted a video of it while I was starting (link below) but it is tough to hear the hum I am referring to unless you crank up your volume. You can really make it out at the 22 second mark on the video.
Any ideas?
