Lately I read more and more about the sensitivity of fish, especially shark,in connection to the static electric field that is spread by boats, downriggers and even bait.
Sometimes fish are attracted to this field and at other times they are repulsed by the same field.Does anybody on this forum have any opinion or factual knowledge about this matter?
Thanks Rolmops

I fish the Puget Sound for salmon and I run a Pro-Troll Black Box on my boat. My natural voltage is ok but I like to be able to change it and also have it consistent. I think it helps when the fishing is slow but it's not going to get you fish every time and all the time.

Pro-Troll Black Box

Damon

Re: Static electric field of boats.

Commercial Trollers have used this theory for years. It has only been available to sports fishers for a few years now. I use the Scotty Blackbox. There has to be fish around for it to work and no fish seems to be biggest problem. Blackmouth fishing in the Puget Sound and Canadian Gulf Islands have been mixed at best and very inconsistant. Usually, if you find bait, you stand a chance of finding fish.
Only 3 more weeks and we are shut down again until 1st of July in most areas.
