Is there any stator interchangeability among the mercury/mariner/force line? I have a '74 model 85 HP outboard, the kind with the belt driver distributor, anyway if anybody knows please tell me, or atleast point me in the direction of someone who sells stators, and wiring harnesses, either OEM or not.

Re: Stator Interchange

Josh, I think I am responsible for the lack of replies to some of your posts. I was a new member with a lack of experience at written communication and at working on my own motor.I got carried away and tried to help too. Igave some misinformation,I THOUGHT I had done good research, and my posts were obnoxious. Sorry. Guys, this is not me despite the similarity in our profiles. I don't post any more and I will not assume another name to sneak back in. I'm grateful for all the help you gave me, and I still read the forum. My motor runs great. Please give this man the help he needs. Thanks again. -G.<br />PS: Josh, you may want to bump this to the top a couple of times

I also live in Alabama, have a '74 85hp 850 Mercury and a lot of my motor problems were very similar to yours.
