The insulation on my 2 stator ground wires has partially flaked off leaving the first 3 ins of braided wire exposed and corroded. Is it possible to cut those 3ins off the ground wires at the terminel end (rotted portion) and splice on new ones without a problem. I don't want to replace the stator if I don't have to.

Thanks Rosser1, for the info....what gauge wire did you use?? Also, on my 60hp, how do you connect the leads from a tempory remote starter. I need to time this thing and the Seloc instructions call for turning over the engin while adjusting one of the control arms and hitting a timing mark. .....thanks again, Carl V
