Stator plate movement

How much resistance should there be in a stator plate on a 25hp Johnson please, IE how stiff or loose ? Thankyou

It should rotate freely without binding.----No side to side movement.----Model # of your motor ?----Is it a 1952-----1969-------1979-----1998 ( 3 cylinder ) or what , all different motors.
