Stator question

I have an 82 150 Mercury black max. My stator is bad. My question is; I found a used one; they say is the same part #. The one I currently have had a baby blue wire and also a blue with white stripe. The new ?used? one I want to get has baby blue and a white wire with blue stripe. All other wires are the same as my old one. Will this be ok to replace with different color wire?

Brian, please be careful here, how much is a new stator from CDI electronics/online, how much is the used stator on e-bay.?How much more is the new stator,it's your boat don't cheap out, you don't want to get stuck out there, even with towing insurance.
Have you tested the stator with a multi meter or any other way, stators are expensive and it feels bad when when it fixs nothing. Test all ignition parts you can first.
Does the stator have any burn marks on the top or bottom, or the connectors corroded and you can pull them off.
