stator questions!

1995 Force 120HP bogs down at high RPM's. Trying to test stator. And I have a couple of questions. Turns out I did not have the right puller so I could not get the flywheel off to look at the part# on the stator. (numbers must be on top) I could not see any #'s on the bottom. My stator has 6 wires coming out of it that I could see. <br /><br />2 yellow<br />1 blue<br />1 blue with white stripe<br />1 red <br />1 red with white stripe<br /><br />The stator is black in color. I keep hearing about a red stator, still not sure if the stator itself is red or the wires are red. The spec sheet I am working from has measurements for OEM (ohms) and CDI (ohms) Whats the differance? My readings are.<br /><br />Blue to blue with white stripe. 6.18K ohms

Sorry! Got cut off!<br /><br />Red to Red with white stripe 97 ohms<br />Blue to white 3.6 Meg<br />Does this sound about right so far? do not have voltages yet. Got to put carbs back on and run it! If all measurements are correct. If my problem only happens at high RPM's could it read good but still be bad? Thanks Bellybuster!

bellybuster : Remember when doing ohms (no power to stator)<br />You will need a steering wheel puller to remove the flywheel and may be a air gun<br />Part no# is not needed if you to seilermarine he has a breakdown all you need os your serial no#<br />I don't have my manual any longer ,you will need a diagram on the color code for the stator ,there should be two wires on the low side,and two for the high side.

Blue and red are stator wires and you should have blue and red with a white stipe in them they too are stator wires<br />Take the meter set to ohm x1000 and go across the the two solids and the two with the stripe
