Re: stator repair.

A while back, I posted some results on stators. Seems like on three cylinder engines you can charge both boxes from only one side of the windings, so if only one set of windings are bad, this is an option. Just run both sets of wires from the same winding. (crimp connectors or parallel taps). I have a three cylinder 90 that will start and run on prime this way. I never tried it with four cylinder engines, and have not yet tried it under load on the water.

Re: stator repair.

good idea but why then is there 4 wires and why are they labeled 1 2 3 4.
i would love nothing more than to take the wires from 1 and 2 and jump them to 3 and 4. but that could be an expensive experiment if i toast the boxes.
