'85 Force 85. I'm trying to trouble shoot a no-spark on #2. I sent out my CD module and they said it ran fine for 15 minutes. Followed the clymer book and did a resistance check on the stator.

It said to check resistance between one set of yellow and blue stator wires, and it should read 675-800 ohm. On my engine, there are 2 blue wires butt connected into 1 which goes into a plug that contains a blue and a yellow, and the other connector just has a single yellow. I checked between the blue and yellow on the one plug, and got 2.010K ohms. Checked between the blue on the one plug and the yellow on the other plug, and got .750k ohms. Checked yellow one one plug to yellow on other plug and got 2.785k ohms. Odd. Would this mean my stator is bad?

Re: Stator resistance check

I finally got the flywheel off. I took the stator off and it has some very minor corrosion around where some of the wires hook up. I hooked my meter up and did some more resistance checks, and one of the blue wires, I can wiggle around and the meter goes crazy. So I ordered a new stator. I really hope that fixes it.
