My 1995 120 Force was not getting any spark so I started troubleshooting. After talking to a local parts guy he said it might be the stator. Tested it the resistance and it was open. Ran some voltage across just to make sure and still nothing. (it should have low resistance only 600 ohms) ok clearly bad. Need to make sure cause the part was 180 bucks. (new..cheaper than this site!;-) ) The parts guy also said if it is a black stator they are more likely to fail. The reason is they have square 90 degree corners that stress the wire and thus more likely to fail. The new one I put in is Red. This one has rounded corners for better fault tolerance. Hope this helps someone..
