I am testing a stator for a 1996 9.9 high thrust J10FRELEDR. There is no spark.
What are the voltages for the coils on this stator. My Clymer book says
Power Coil Cranking should be 100 volts
and
Charge Coil Cranking should be 300 volts.
The stator I have which is an exchange after the old one died peaks at 0.2 v DC / 36 v AC on the power coil and 11 v DC / 191.8 AC on the charge coil.
My book says that the above specs are right for a 1999 to 2001 model Johnson. Mine is a 1996
The original stator is model 0584821 which according to BRP is compatible with model 0763761 which is the model that was sent to replace my defective one and the model I am now testing.
Resistance on both the power coil and charge coil are within specs at 50.6 ohms and 722 ohms respectively. the battery charging coil resistence is high at 1.4 ohms where my book says it should be 0.45 to 0.54
Any help would be greatly appreciated
