Re: Stator & Trigger what Amps
Eventually got round to replacing stator and the correct one was the 200 16 Amp 6 1985-1999 6625221-OG201874 174-5456-16 (14) as per the above.Engine fired up first time and idled and picked up ok. Then changed tanks and started to playup on old fuel! Then went back to original tank and it became difficult to start and had to keep rpm at 3,000 once I droped below it stalled. Would this be bad gas or could it be the low speed idle stablizer?
Any thoughts. Will run it agin for 10 minutes or so on the fresh tanks and see if it will idle again. Any suggestions help would be great.

Odds are you plugged it up, or the fuel pump just decided to crap out. The idle fuel passages are tiny, and easy to mess up. The thumb sized filter on that thing is nothing to write home about either.
As fussy as these things are, and as expensive as it can get if you go lean on them, I can't understand why anybody would try to burn old fuel in em. I use the season end leftover fuel in the family bus, well diluted with good fuel.
If you suspect the add-on timing module (idle stabilizer or advance) just disconnect it. As a matter of fact, if they short out you'll go to about 40 degrees advance at wot and grenade it before you realize what hit you. That's why most of us discard the thing.
hope it helps
