stator?

my 1986 mercury 90hp straight six 2 stroke outboard is one runing on cyclenders 1 2 and 3. cyclenders 2 4 and 6 are not running. i changed the coils and the computer boards. i was wondering if my stator was crapping out would it do this to my motor? ive also replaced everything fuel related on the motor and cleaned the carbs.

As you have found out, throwing parts at an engine is expensive and doesn't always get the thing fixed....

Do you have a DVA? Of course not. If you did you would have it fixed by now, with the cost of just the part that required replacing....

Go to my thread on building a DVA and build one, then use the FACTORY service manual diagnostic procedures and identify the failed part. As you have replaced everything else then yes, it's likely to be the stator...
