Stearn drive or Out drive?

My boat has a 302 V8 motor and a Mercruiser unit on back of boat. Is this called an inboard/outboard, or what? What is the difference between a stearn drive and an outdrive?

Yes...you have a stern drive and you will hear it referred to as that or I/O or inboard/outboard. The actual outboard part will be called the leg sometimes or drive or whatever weird and wonderful names people come up with. This is half of the fun on the board, trying to figure out what people are talking about....just enjoy your boat!
