i want to replace my model 1 stearndrive with a alpha 1,i have located a alpha 1 gen 2 drive is it the same? what does the term gen 2 mean i am lost thanks

Alpha 1 Gen II....Will not work.<br /><br />You need another Mercrusier 1. Or you can convert an Alpha 1 to the older type driveshaft.<br /><br />Gen.II is the latest and greatest. Check this link out.<br /><br /> Drive ID
