Steel hull repair

I have a 1969 River Queen 40ft. It has a steel hull and is rusted out in places along the keel and was handled roughly on and off the trailer along the edges. Best idea to strip paint and rust to see what I have to work with? I have heard airplane paint stripper but dont want that around my kids or dogs. Will try to get some pics up soon.

Ayuh,..... The Best way to find problem areas to be patched it to beat suspect spots with the pointed end of a chippin' hammer,.....

If ya punch a hole in the hull, that spot is rusted out,...
Cut out the area, 'n weld in new patches,...

Okay, a steel hull repair. I guess stitch welding is going to be your new friend... Bondo basically stated it all...
