What a great feeling to get that done. New 16' dual steering cables for Vindicator 200. Not hard at all. Mostly getting the courage to pull the engine. My steering is very easy and smooth. I had good service from the parts supplier in New York. I noticed the instructions warned not to use any grease since the parts were already greased and there is supposedly an issue about mixing greases. Really? Install the new cables without grease? Also, there were no instructions about centering the wheel. So I guessed, and I'm off by about 20 degrees. No big deal. I'll probably ignore it. I could lie on my back and loosen the eight screws/bolts and start over but I'm not too motivated presently. Good is good enough, but if there was a trick I should've used, I'd like to know. thx

To center the wheel you need to make sure the engine is straight, remove the rack assembly from the helm. straighten the wheel and reassemble the helm. All cables made today are already lubed and sealed. The only maintenance is to grease the steering rods going through the steering tubes on the motor.
