Steering Bracket Compatibility

I'm hoping to repair a 35hp Evin with a broken steering bracket and missing tiller handle. Apparently, the motor fell over in storage and broke the tiller off. The model on the motor is E35RCND (1982).

I've located a steering bracket/tiller arm from a 1978 Johnson 35 Hp 35EL78R. Any chance this would be compatible with the Evinrude?

OK, I've determined that the part number for the broken steering bracket on the '82 Evinrude (E35RCND) is 0326045 (http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/EVINRUDE/1982/E35RCND 1982/EXHAUST HOUSING/parts.html).

The steering bracket on the '78 Johnson (35EL78R) has a part number of 0322884 (http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/JOHNSON/1978/35EL78R 1978/EXHAUST HOUSING - 35/parts.html).

This page (http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/brp/B-0322884.html) states that the 0322884 ('78 Johnson) part fits years 77-80, so it is not compatible.

Is anyone out there parting out an early 80s 35hp JohnnyRude? I need the steering bracket and tiller handle.
