steering cable re-place

how to remove from 1987 jay-bee with a 55 nissan out-board motor got it off steering wheel end but can't seem to remove it from motor end????

Disconnect the drag link, then unscrew the cable from the motor.

does'nt seam like there's enough room to slide out of motor without removing motor?? so your saying it unscrew's before it goes threw motor area?? thank's for your time

Pull the engine up and off to get the clearance you need to remove it.
