Hi,
I am fixing up and old Crestliner Voyager and have replaced the drum type steering with a teleflex cable. I got it all bolted up front and ran it to the back and it is 6" too short.
I can get a 15' cable and just replace it and it will work OK i would think. I have researched a little and it looks like the steering rack like mine is not made anymore and has went to a back mount type steering connection. I can still get the old style and I found one for 100 bucks and 300 miles away.
My question is, Would it be best to purchase a rotary type setup or a rack type?
It looks like for just a little more money I can replace the entire system. A rotary would actually fit behind the dash pretty easy, but if a rack is better, I'll work with the tight space.
Any opinions would be welcome.
Thanks, Phil
