I have a 1986 Evinrude 30 hp E30ELCOA and it is set up for remote steering. What would I have to do to change it ti tiller steering. I know I would have to have a tiller handle, where would I get one and would I need to make any other changes?
Hi, Boater.<br /><br />According to your model number, your engine is a 1985. I doubt that there is much difference, but there may be some differences in part numbers if you need parts.<br /><br />Most of the OMC tillers in that size range and period are interchangable, if that is any help.<br /><br />I would shop around for a junk engine that uses the same part numbers for the tiller and controls, but a JohnnyRude dealer may be able to order them for you.<br /><br />www.twincityoutboard.com usually has used parts.
