Forgive my ignorance. I am still new to the Inboard world and have a dual rudder style steering system on my cruiser that I bought late last year. I want to educate myself on this system and was curious what they call it? It has an air reservoir and a pneumatic cylinder. The boat had a grease gun on it and for the life of me, I cant find a grease zerk anywhere on the boat. Mostly want to know what to do to maintain it. Thanks!

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Sounds like ya got a Hyd. steerin' system, with an oil resv. that's lower than the helm/ helms,.....

That's why it's got the air pump, to keep pressure on the oil resv. 'n keep the air outa the Hyd. side,....

Some pictures would help,.....

That sounds about exactly right. I will try to get some pics the next time I am at the lake. Do you know of any grease zerks on this type of system? Or grease zerks anywhere else on the boat for that matter that requires a hit of grease? Trying to figure out why there was a grease gun on the boat when we bought it.

Ayuh,.... Possibly on both ends of the Hyd. ram, where it mounts, 'n any tie-bar ends, rudder stuffin' boxes, etc,....
