I recently purchased a 150 H.P. Evinrude for my 1994 Stratos F/S. The steering for my boat is dual cable and the boat that the engine came off of was a single cable. What would I need to do to convert it or can I just use one of my cables to steer this engine? I understand this is a very heavy engine and I really would rather convert that deal with any damage to my steering.

Evinrude makes attachment kits for dual steering. Which kit depends on if the steering is opposite entry or parallel entry. The easiest to set up and adjust is parallel entry.

My boat has parallel entry (both cables come from same side and move same direction). Would it be damaging to my steering to just run one cable?
