I have read several post dealing with steering issues and im still not sure how to fix this issue on my boat. (85 Astro Glass Bass Boat). Currently the engine turns further right (3 turns with the Steering wheel) and left (1.5 turns). It looks like when the engine is turned right it hits a stop or the reaches the limits of the steering linkage. I have added several pictures below. Could this be the way it was desinged? Any Help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this would help, put unhook the linkage arm, so when you move the steering wheel the motor will not move. Find the center spot of the steering wheel (so you will have equal turns in each direction). Once you find that, hook up the steering arm again.

Ayuh,... My guess is the cable isn't centered in the helm...

Thanks for all the advice. I found center had to remove steering wheel and reinstall this got me closer. I then disconnect the steering cable and adjusted to bring the engine the rest of the way to center. Good as new. Thank you
