steering cable possibly,

Is it equally hard to turn in both directions, or is one harder than the other?

Re: steering hard to turn !!!

most likely corrosion where the cable passes thru the tube at the transom end

Re: steering hard to turn !!!

1st, go to the adults only section and download the correct manual
You will need to loosen this nut some tap it with a hammer to dislodge the bracket
remove the pin at the end of the cable and remove the cable with the tube .
find a safe area to add heat and penetrating oil to work the cable from the tube.
Once dree clean the tube ,reinstall cable using plenty of grease.

Just a lot of good information. Item #9 is a link to Service Manuals. Nobody paid much attention until the title was changed to Adults Only. Magically there was increased activity there immediately after the change . . . ;)

Re: steering hard to turn !!!

I took the cable out thats was the problem, but im looking to buy a new one and I see its cheaper without the pinion ( just the cable ) but I want to know if its possible separate the cable to the pinion ( the square part its go under the steering wheel) thanks agein !!!!
