steering johnson 70hp

when you put a new rack and pinion steering on do you have to pull motor? my link hooks up through the transom mount. dose to new rack and pinion dose it have the nut already on it? could not tell not much info in it. please help/

Welcome to the site. Whether you have to pull the motor depends on whether you have enough clearance to make the cable curve to get the steering rod into the motor's tilt tube. Some you can, some you can't. It all depends on dimensions in the motor well. On Teleflex systems, the attaching nut comes with it.
