Hey guys I'm redoing a 1964 Glaspar, I have a 1975 50hp Evinrude I'm putting on the boat anyone have any recommendations as to a complete steering kit for this, I want the whole kit and kaboodle right from steering wheel back to the engine. I'm not sure if they make a complete kit or not but I thought someone on here might know.

Thanks
Frank

Re: Steering Kits

I think it's a bad choice of images on iboats part. I've run into this before when trying to recommend a system. I googled the model number and found this site http://marinesupplydirect.com/Telef...stem-Package-12-P727981.aspx?bkey=38639372040 and the description states: "Package suits inboards, small outboard and power assisted stern drive applications." The one you linked is the no-feed-back system which is also very good. Mine is just the regular system.

Re: Steering Kits

Thanks for the quick replies! Excuse my ignorance but the reason I'm looking for a complete kit is that I have never touched a steering system before, I'm sure I can get it figured out though on my own. But the advice is very very very helpful, and is probably saving me a few screw ups of my own ;) Do any of these kits have steering wheels with them? I was not able to be sure but I don't think so. What do I need to look into as far as steering wheels go?

Indeed Admiral.......I would heartly suggest that anyone compare internet vendors descriptions and part numbers to actual manufacturers spec sheets.

Amazon had a Moeller fuel tank listed as a "low profile" unit, upon checking the part number on the Moeller site.....they described the model as a NON low-profile.
If I would have bought it without checking.....I would have been SOL.
