Hello,
When I tow my boat with a transom saver the motor wants to turn when I go around a corner. Its a Force 150 hp which is an in-line 5 clyinder. I tried tieing up the steering wheel with a bungee and rope, that didn't work to great. I saw a post a few months back with a link to a product the clips onto the drag link so the motor can't move. I searched in here for about 3 hours. Does anyone know wheere I can buy them?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: Steering locks

It is called a transom saver, or transom lock.

If you run a ratchet strap, or like device, on you motor directly to the stern eyes ( not the steeringwheel) , you will have much better results, as this is when the forces are coming from that you are trying to stop.,:)

Not an issue with NFB steering. Maybe it's time. :D

Re: Steering locks

Thanks for the advice. A Teleflex NFB system does look pretty appealing. I was looking at the 4.2 How does this system prevent engine drift while trailering?

That's odd, when I used a transom saver with my old boat, one of the things I liked about it was that it totally eliminated this problem. The V shaped part that the cradled the lower unit prevented and side to side movement.

I can't stand NFB

I'll second that opinion, the first time I drove a boat with NFB I thought the cable was going bad or something. I had heard all the hype about it and actually thought about trying it till I drove one with it.
