Running a 2006 Yamaha F150 on a Ranger Reata 1850. Steering left takes much more effort than steering right, I tried adjusting the power trim/tilt at various speeds but it did not have a significant effect.

Will adjusting the trim tab make a difference? If I let go of the steering wheel, the boat maintains course and does not drift.

Boat is also equiped with SeaStar hydraulic power steering.

Thanks

Adjusting the tab is unlikely to change anything. More likely the steering is hiding that you have a set up problem that would be causing a lot of torque in the wheel in a normal steering system.

Set the trim tab straight back or with the trailing edge slightly to starboard. Otherwise, those F150s deliver a lot of torque and you may not be able to do much about it. Is it a slight difference or a huge one? Make sure all your pivot points are free to swivel.
