Steering only turns one way

I am having trouble with my steering, for some reason it will only turn right. I can get the motor from Center to hard right and back. Then when I go from center to hard left all the wheel does is spin and click and nothing happens. I am just using a cable steering system on my 1986 17' Mckee Craft. Anyone know what the problem is with the steering. Thanks in advance.

Its a Rotary steering system. So thats just it, needs to be replaced. There is no fixing these things?

Sounds like it. I am on my third one now. This time I got the zero feed back helm and love it. Feels kinda weird but you get used to it quick. You can reduce the time btween changes if you grease the engine side of the cable frequently. Get the nut with the zerk fitting if you don't have it already.
