I have a 2001 bayliner 175. I have noticed that my boat wants to steer more to the right the faster I go. I have to hold a little presure on the wheel to keep it straight but if I let go it wants to vere off to the right. I have had this boat for 3 yrs with no problem. Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can do to fix the Problem without taking it in and being charged a arm or leg to get it fix?

Re: Steering problems

There is a trim tab on the lower unit. It should be just behind the prop. It looks like a little rudder. Sounds to me like its gotten loose and moved on you. Turn the tab in the direction the boat wants to veer and tighten it back down that should take care of your problem.

Be careful out there on the Rez and river, theres some crazies out there! ! !
