Hello, All!
I have to put steering system back into an 1957 aluminum boat.
Here is what I have:
Steering wheel with cable
two roller wheels in front, at the level of the steering wheel, still attached to the boat
two roller wheels attached to springs (about 4" long) springs attached to the hooks on other end
two more roller wheels
two sets (four) U brackets to attach the rollers to the hull.
I understand how to install the cable onto the steering wheel. I do not know how to proceed from here.
Please help!

Re: steering reinstall

steering_shift 011.jpgThanks!
My problem is, I am not sure how this is attached to the motor. I have two springs with pulleys attached to them, so it looks like the cable were fastened solid to the motor (how??), but I am not sure.
Here are the pictures of the motor and all hardware (+ 2 additional pulleys in the fornt of the boat).
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hana
I was only able to upload one picture. Here is the link to the other:http://www5.snapfish.com/snapfish/t...otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/

Re: steering reinstall

Looks just like this. Ebay sometimes has em. If not pretty easy to fabricate.
