Turning outdrive all the way to one side I get a loud belt squeel. I know many do this but is there an adjustment I can make or do I have to live with it? Thanks in advance!

Re: STEERING SQUEELING

You can Change, or Tighten the P/S pump belt.....
But, What you are doing is trying to turn Farther, After the system has reached it's Limit... This Loads the pump,+ lines with Excessive Pressure.... Don't Keep Turning, When you've Reached the Limit... Just because you're turning the wheel Harder, The boat Will Not turn any Sharper.... All you're Doing, Is Stressing allot of Parts that Don't Need the added Stresses....

No, You Don't have to live with it.... Learn How to drive your Boat....

Re: STEERING SQUEELING

SQUEELING STARTS WITH ALMOST NO PRESSURE AT ALL DURING A FULL TURN TO PORT. I KNOW SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM DUE TO THE WRONG BELT BEING INSTALLED. I AM QUITE CAPABLE TO DRIVE A BOAT. I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX EVERTHING IN IT.

DELTA5
You switched from lower case to UPPER CASE.
That's a sign you are ticked off with the advice you are getting. Upper case messages are considered shouting (internet etiquette )
Just thought I would add this. Advice on this forum is good and it may save you a bunch of $$$$

Re: STEERING SQUEELING

perhaps you should disconnect steering from drive and make sure nothing is bound up that might be causing excessive effort for power steering.

I stand by my post.....
When you've Reached the turn-limit of the system, You're Overloading the pump....
Either tighten the belt, OR Don't try to turn Past the Limit......
IF it only Squeals at the limit..... Theres Nothing Wrong.... It's the Driver.....
