Hello All !

I posted this last year and didn't get any answers, Didn't matter i had to go out of town for the rest of the summer any way and couldn't work on the boat.

Well i am back at working on the checkmate.
I want to remove the dash but i cant untill the steering wheel hub is removed. this is were i need help.
Removed the cover on wheel then there are 3 bolts holding the wheel to the hub, i removed 3 bolts and wheel and now can not remove the hub.
Did resurch and all the ones if seen have the center nut holding the wheel and you use a puller to get it off. this is not what i have... I think

A couple pics of what i have, can take more tonite when i get home.
How do i remove this hub?

Ayuh,..... I believe removin' the Big nut on the backside, in line with the center, will allow further disassembly....

Re: Steering wheel removal

Thanks Bondo! Will try tonight hoping the shaft and hub come right out.

The steering cable and steering shaft have to be connected in that box somehow! Have you ever seen one like this?

If i could just get the hub off then the dash panel will come right off.

Re: Steering wheel removal

Bondo you were spot on........................

Removed the nut and and hub came out with a thru bolt. It has a removable spline shaft that meshes with the steering arm spline when its all tightend up.

Will go back to my original post and do up some pics!

Thanks AGAIN!
