You know I’ve heard that too. I have heard that M-Benz is very good but would never own anything they make because they stole and destroyed American Chrysler.
Just for fun I went on a Toyota factory parts website and looked up parts for a 2007 4Runner (picked that year because that’s the year of my “newer” old Jeep). Well guess what just about every mission critical part is available. High priced yes, but quality OEM I’d gladly pay for vs having to use aftermarket or surf EBay or car-part.com like I have to do with the Jeeps!

My biggest gripe with Stellantis is the paywall for working on their stuff.

I’m on my 6 th Toyota since 2001. Their OEM parts are really good. Local dealer near my work does a good discount (30 % ish) if you buy on line. my Camry is at 272 k, current highlander 170k, previous highlander 230 k when sold. Only Consistent issue is fairly frequently warp front rotors. Tried all brands etc replace slide pins etc , onky had to replace 2 calipers over all these cars and years. Just resolved to replace the rotors evry 2 or so years. Oem ones on my Camry were $130 for the pair last time. Highlanders like $225 pr. I assume the calipers are getting hing up a bit, but it is not a deal breaker. The 3.5 V6 in the Camry and Highlander are 500 k engines if you just change the oil. their ball joints, tie rod ends, and cv joints are really good. Only cv joint I changed was due to a boot clamp leaking.

I wonder if Partsouq is still the hidden gem it used to be. Haven’t used the site in years but used to get out of market Japanese brand parts dirt cheap, and what I remember was in market parts were really cheap
